Presidents of the University and Chancellors of Berkeley
From 1870 until 1952, the President of the University of California also
governed over each of the campuses of the University, since the
University, until that time, was centered around Berkeley. Only in 1952
was the position of Chancellor created, to govern each campus
independently.
