In “The Big Knockover,” the Op chases a gang of bank robbers and murderers
around San Francisco after they steal over a million dollars in a pair
of violent robberies of the Seaman’s National Bank and The Golden Gate
Trust Company. In the sequel, “$106,000 Blood Money,” the brother of one
of the gangsters who was killed in “The Big Knockover,” shows up in San
Francisco to finger his brother’s killer and claim the reward. The two
stories were reprinted in book form as Blood Money in 1943.
