The Bancroft Library Surge Task Forces

History and Purpose
Bancroft Principal Cataloger Randal Brandt was appointed Surge Team Coordinator on March
1, 2004 and given responsibility for planning the move of The Bancroft Library collections out of Doe Annex, including all preparation, packing, and transfers of both collection and non-collection materials.

To accomplish these tasks, Bancroft administration recruited membership to three special task forces that had been identified as essential to surge planning: 1) Collections Preparation Task Force; 2) Purge Preparation Task Force; 3) Public Services Task Force.
