The Bancroft Library will be CLOSED from May 23, 2008 to mid-Fall 2008 to move back to the newly retrofitted Doe Annex.
Since 2005, the library has been undergoing a major construction project which included a complete California state-mandated seismic retrofit of the Doe Annex (the building that houses Bancroft), along with significant programmatic improvements to
library.
Until May 23, 2008, The Bancroft Library will be open in temporary quarters at
2121 Allston Way, just off campus in downtown Berkeley. Some materials may be unavailable
while we are in our temporary quarters. Additionally, some library services will be unavailable.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our users.
The Bancroft Library move also includes University Archives and the Center for the Tebtunis Papyri (CTP).
The Regional Oral History Office (ROHO) moved to Room 251 of Evans Hall. The Mark Twain Papers and Project (MTP)
moved to 2195 Hearst Avenue, Suite 330, Berkeley, CA 94720-6400.
