Directions
From Northbound Highway 101 (San Francisco/Daly City)
- Follow 101 North and then switch to 80 East, San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge
- After the Bay Bridge, Exit to I-80 East (Berkeley/Sacramento)
- Exit on University Avenue
- Continue East on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford Street
- Make a right at Oxford Street
- Turn right at Allston Way
From Highway 24
- From Highway 24 exit Telegraph Avenue
- Continue on Telegraph until it dead ends at the campus on Bancroft Way
- Make a left on Bancroft Way
- Make a right on Fulton Street, which will become Oxford Street in 2 blocks
- Continue on Oxford Street to Allston Way
- Make a left at Allston Way
From Westbound Highway 13
- Highway 13 becomes Tunnel Road
- Continue on Tunnel Road. Tunnel Road becomes Ashby Avenue near the Claremont Hotel
- Turn right at Shattuck Avenue
- Turn right at Allston Way
From I-80 East or West
- Exit University Avenue
- Continue east on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles
- Make a right at Oxford Street
- Turn right at Allston Way
From Westbound I-580
- Exit I-80 East (to Berkeley, Sacramento)
- Exit at University Avenue
- Continue east on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles
- Make a right at Oxford Street
- Turn right at Allston Way
From North I-880 (San Jose; Hayward; Oakland Airport)
- Stay in left center lanes
- Exit 80 East (to Berkeley)
- Exit at University Avenue
- Continue East on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles
- Make a right at Oxford Street
- Turn right at Allston Way
Parking
PUBLIC PARKING:
Please do not park in University Parking Facilities or on the campus! All spaces are reserved.
- City of Berkeley Center Street Garage, 2025 Center Street between Shattuck Avenue and Milvia Street.
- City of Berkeley Sather Gate Garage, located on Durant Avenue between Dana Street and Telegraph Avenue. Enter from Channing Way or Durant Avenue.
- Martin Luther King Jr. Student Union Garage, located on Bancroft Way just West of Telegraph Avenue.
- Street parking. Read all parking restriction signs carefully. The rules and times are strictly enforced by the City of Berkeley.
DISABLED PARKING:
There is very limited parking accommodation on campus for drivers displaying legal disabled parking permits. Some free parking spaces are reserved for the disabled in the Martin Luther King Jr. Student Union Parking Garage on Bancroft Way just West of Telegraph Avenue by the Zellerbach Theater. When all designated spaces are full, drivers with permits may park at no charge in non-designated spaces within the garage. City of Berkeley street parking is available at no charge to cars displaying current disabled permits.
PARKING FOR TOUR BUSES:
Bus parking is available at the white curb areas on Bancroft Avenue between Piedmont Avenue and College Avenue (near Boalt Law School and Berkeley Art Museum) and between Bowditch Street and Telegraph Avenue in front of Sproul Hall (near MLK Jr. Student Union). Driver must remain with the bus at these sites. For further information call the campus parking office at 510-642-5401.
