The Bancroft Library temporarily resides at 2121 Allston Way in downtown Berkeley.
- Before entering the Reading Room, you must stop at the Registration Desk, located to the right as you enter the building, and register to use the library. Bancroft Library readers must be at least 18, or have graduated from high school. Current UCB photo identification is adequate for registration. Others must present two forms of identification (at least one containing a photograph).
- In the process of registering, you agree to abide by Bancroft regulations, as outlined in the "Conditions of Use" leaflet available at the Registration Desk. Among these conditions are prohibitions against containers (backpacks, purses, envelopes, etc.) and pens in the Reading Room.
- Registration usually remains valid for two years.
