Paper (Huchet, similar to Briquet 7677), ff. I-IV (mod. paper) + 30 + I-IV (mod. paper), modern pencil foliation, 215 × 140 (136 × 80) mm., 20 running lines, 1-2¹² 3⁶, no catchwords or signatures, written by one person, semi-cursive script. Decoration: f. 1, 2ߚline light red initial with crude red pen decoration, harping, beading and flourishes; the same type of initial, 2ߚline, on ff. 2, 10v, 12v and 19v; occasional yellow washing of initials throughout; marginal notes, pointing hands by a contemporary and later person. Binding, brown calf over paper boards by Sangorski and Sutcliffe of London, on spine in gold letters is "Leonardo Bruni, Vita di Dante e di Petrarca, Ms". ff. 1-29, Leonardo Bruni, Vita di Dante e Petrarca, ff. 1-19, (Vita di Dante) title "Qui comincia la vita di Dante Alighieri compilata da messere Lionardo d’Arezzo nostro poeta fiorentino", inc. "Avendo in questi giorni posto fine a una opera assai lungha ...", expl. "... e così la fortuna questo mondo tira e permuta gli abitatori con volgere sue rote. Finis"; ff. 19-29, (Vita di Petrarca) title "Qui è finita la vita di Dante compilata da messer Lionardo d’Arezzo, e comincia quella di messer Francesco Petrarcha conpilata pel sopradetto messer Lionardo poeta fiorentino", inc. "Francescho Petrarcha huomo di grande ingegnio ...", expl. "... così ad chi non merita come a chi merita dare si puote. Finis. Deo gratias. Amen.
