ff. 1-33: Relatione del stato di Milano, Le cose che à me pare di dovere referrire intorno al stato di Milano sono quelle istesse che communemente desiderano li Prencipi di sapere…la memoria dell’insolentie et estersioni dalla signoria di francesi. Questo tanto m’e parso di rifferire a Vostra Altezza delle cose del stato di milano nella quale relatione son sicurissimo di non haver tanto mancato di prudenza et giuditio quanto ho abondato di devotione et di fede verso l’Altezza vostra alla cui buona gratia resto con ogn’affetto di maggior humilta et raccomando la mia fidel servitu. A history of Milan from the period of territorial expansion under the Visconti until sometime before 1546, when Alfonso d’Avalos, marquess of Vasto, died: he is presented as living in this account (see f. 22: “…appresso sono [as leaders of armed companies] il signor Don ferrante Gonzaga, il marchese del Vasto…”), a fine copy made later for possible presentation to a patron. Paper (not in Briquet; a crossbow within a circle; countermark: two C’s surmounted by a trefoil), ff. 33; 302 × 206 (250 × 125) mm. 1-3¹⁰ and 3 leaves at the end; catchwords on each verso. 19 long lines with vertical bounding lines produced by folding. One hand in an italic script. Some damage on last 11 leaves. Unbound, but once part of the same volume as HM 1313 and 1316; later bound with HM 772, 775 and other materials.
