About the Project

The UC Berkeley University Archives at The Bancroft Library received a gift from UC President Emeritus David P. Gardner in 2006 to support the creation of a website related to the California loyalty oath controversy. Additional partners in this project were the UCLA University Archives, Young Research Library, and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography Archives, UC San Diego.

The materials selected for digitization reflect topics pertaining to the history of the California loyalty oath controversy.
