Shig’s Review #7 is devoted to Shig’s shakuhachi teacher, Masayuki Koga. It is notable for:


  1. The cover photo of Shig’s father holding the shakuhachi that Shig would later play and


  1. The reproduction of the letter that Ginsberg, Peter Orlovsky, and Koga sent to Shig from Boulder, Colorado, after a Koga performance there.


This issue has 15 pages. Many of them are reproductions of printed material on Koga and the shakuhachi, which are not included below. Two of the pages appear to trace the history of the flute in various countries. One page is a sample of Japanese calligraphy, or shoda.
