Ellen Wyrick-Parkinson Transcript
Ellen Wyrick-Parkinson was a long-term resident of West Oakland. After the collapse of the Cypress Freeway in West Oakland during the Loma Prieta Earthquake of 1989, Wyrick-Parkinson became involved in the Coalition for West Oakland Revitalization. In the mid-1990s, she became involved in the West Oakland Community Advisory Group, which was affiliated with the Oakland Base Reuse Authority.
