Elois Thornton Transcript
Elois Thornton was born and raised in Los Angeles. She attended UC Berkeley as an undergraduate and earned her master’s in city planning there in 1984. Upon graduation she was hired by the City of Oakland. In the 1990s she began working on base closures in Oakland through the redevelopment agency. In this interview, Thornton discusses the process of base closure and realignment.
