Sasser immediately took a seat on the Senate Budget Committee and served on that committee during his entire tenure in the senate. He lost reelection in 1994 to Bill Frist.
In this interview, Senator Sasser reflects on changes in the national political landscape since the 1970s. He also discusses key pieces of budget-related legislation, including Gramm-Rudman-Hollings (1985) and the Budget Enforcement Act (1990).
