Teddy Bear
Collection of Maki Hasegawa

A New York shopkeeper displayed a stuffed bear doll based on a cartoon of the incident in the Washington Post. While the California Grizzly was on its fast track to extinction, the teddy bear grew quickly into unprecedented popularity.
