Received of Sheriff J.B.Webber of Butte county the person of an elderly Yana Indian, name and place of residence at present unknown, recently taken under the protection of the County of Butte, said person to be taken to the Univrrsity of California for linguistic and phonetic study. The wellfare and comfort of this said person to be duly looked after until the disposition of his case by proper authority.
